Defining Values for My Work
When you're a solopreneur, creating company values can feel… a little silly. After all, it’s just you. But as I was building out my own System & Soul Roadmap, I realized that defining my values wasn’t about making a corporate statement—it was about creating a filter for the kind of work I want to do and how I want to do it.
Values bring clarity. They provide a sense of purpose. And they help ensure that the opportunities I say yes to are aligned with what matters most to me.
Here’s what I landed on:
✨ Be a Bridge – Foster meaningful connections. Whether it’s bridging the gap between vision and execution, individuals and communities, or problems and solutions, bridges don’t just connect—they enable movement. This requires listening, relationship-building, and creating pathways for others.
🛠️ Architect, Not Build – My role is to design the blueprint, set direction, and equip others to bring it to life. Rooted in clarity, sustainability, and scalability, this ensures what’s built is effective and endures.
🌱 Human Flourishing – I want to champion environments where people can grow, heal, contribute, and lead fulfilling lives. That means recognizing every person’s humanity, ensuring dignity, and doing the work to leave the world better than we found it.
💡 Live It Out – Values don’t mean much if they aren’t practiced. Leading with authenticity and integrity means showing up in a way that aligns with what I say I believe. It’s about being present, intentional, and willing to do the hard work of embodiment.
I’m curious—have you ever defined values for your work? If you work within an organization, do your personal values align with your company’s? And if you work for yourself, how do you make sure your values are more than just words on paper? Let’s talk in the comments. 👇
